Over the course of my readings for this week, I have learned quite a few things about copyright, but here are the top 3 things that I think are the most important:
It's not all black and white - Copyright has variations. Some images or creations can be used, or altered under certain circumstances, and other can not. Some images or creations are not allowed for commercial use, whereas other are. It is important to know what the copyright is on everything you use in order to respect the work of others.
Respect - Copyright all boils down to respect. Respect the individual who created the media you are using, by informing yourself about what copyright licence they have chosen, and follow it.
Protect your work - Understanding and using copyright is not only important when using the media of others, but also when creating your own! If you plan to share your creations online, make sure that you copyright it in some way, specifying what ways your work can be used, or altered!
These three things will be very important to teach students so that they remember to think about what media they use during their online endeavours!

So that is what I have learned about copyright so far, and I hope it is something I can continue to learn about and use throughout my teaching career!
